There is no impingement of the shoulder movement because the tree points are angled back and the flap of the saddle is cut back. The tree is adjustable by our qualified saddlers allowing for a customized fit to any horse. Reverse buffalo leather is used on seats, thigh blocks and padded flaps. This leather is extremely soft, long wearing and naturally adds grip. Choose outer thigh blocks or regular hidden thigh blocks. Custom options include double soft leather on flaps or buffalo leather throughout with double soft flaps. Wool flocked panels and long billlets.

When `Movement Disturbs Movement`
The shoulder muscles of the horse react to movement and increase greatly in size when the leg is pulled back. If the shoulder muscles do not have enough space because the saddle is interfering, the rear of the saddle will move from side to side. A gullet steel, in the pommel area, that is too long and straight is the main reason for the saddle moving from side to side and in extreme cases over the horse`s spine. A poorly fitting saddle may cause many back problems including injury to the spine and tight muscles. The horse feels the poorly fitting saddle restricting its movement and is unable to move in its natural way. Every horse is anatomically different in the shoulder region which is a very important consideration in saddle construction.
